I’m just at the Caen port after a week at Quarry lake in Brittany, a new lake for me. The lake is 2.5 hours from Caen port & 5.5 hours from Calais. The over night ferry to Caen suited me for times & no toils.
The weather was against me with the air pressure being over 1032 & zero wind & no movement on the water.
I did manage trapping 4 stunners tho, 2 mirrors of 48lb 8oz & 49lb 2oz along with 2 commons of 52lb 4oz & 55lb 9oz. The weight gains on these fish in Quarry Lakes France is crazy, for example the 55lb 9oz common was put in last November at 37lb 4oz & the 48lb 8oz mirror went in again last November at 34lb 1oz. A 67lb common got caught a few weeks ago, that was put in at 45lb.. All the stocked fish are microchip, there are a few originals to.
All my fish came on the new virus pink wafters specials presented on the faithful TMR rig over a lovely mix of virus crunch, virus custard from Eclipse Baits mixed with crushed & whole maize & mixed pellets from Kent Particles.. This is my go to mix now.

The lake is set in beautiful quiet Brittany countryside, with bars & shops 5 minutes up the road.
The lake is comfortable up to 5 anglers & the 2025 price for lake exclusive is £1700.(£340 each if 5 anglers) to catch some hard fighting stunners.
